After the service I stopped by Lowes and picked up some drainage pipe to finally get the apron by the shop door fixed up. I managed to dig a trench there, some of it through solid rock, but hadn't had time to lay the pipe. Now the pipe is laid and most of the area back filled. No more trying to jump the ditch with the wheel barrow! Hurrah!
And last week I bought an Airstream to put on the back of the property as somewhere to stay when the day ends and I don't want to drive home.
Hope to tear into this full bore next week.

Doug, I am so sorry.
How does one dig through solid rock?
A trailer? Are you now to be referred to by that popular nomenclature about people who dwell in trailers?
Fortunately, the rock here fractures easily when struck with a large sledge hammer. I find that if it doesn't shatter on the first blow, it will by the fourth. That makes things relatively easy.
In the case of the said trench, I used an electric jack hammer though. Lately I've been going around to the rocks that bedevil my lawnmower and reducing them to the surface of the surrounding ground. Should make for much smoother mowing. Reminds me of that song, "Breaking rocks in the hot sun, I fought the law and the law won..." But to be able to mow without worrying about those rocks is a TREMENDOUS blessing.
As for the trailer dwelling... no, if this was a new trailer it would be $50,000+. That is about twice what my folks paid for their house and 10 acres in NJ in 1945. :)
There is nothing trashy about an Airstream, believe me. ;)
Hope your summer is going well.
Doug
